Update: 12/15/21

Hello everyone! Today I updated one of the pages of the blog – the list of free games is now renamed to specify that it consists of computer games only. It has also been updated with new games. Hope this helps your boredom go away, and I’m so sorry for not updating much.

Jokes #11 (Potentially NSFW)

Joke 1 (From Reddit)

A priest, a rabbit, and a minister walk into a bar.

The bartender asks the rabbit, “What can I get for you?”

The rabbit shrugs and says, “I don’t know. I’m only here because of autocorrect.”

Joke 2 (Also from Reddit)

Two scientists, Jim and Dave, walk into a bar. Jim asks the bartender for a H20.

Dave is confused until Jim says “We’re scientists, might as well act like it.”

Dave replies, “Whatever. I’ll get a water too.”

Jim watches the bartender get Dave his drink, angry that his assassination attempt didn’t work.

Joke 3 (From Reddit as well…)

Once there was a polar bear named Jerry. Jerry hated living at the north pole and constantly complained about it to the other polar bears.

“It’s way too cold here!” He would say. “The water is all frozen, there’s nothing to eat but penguins, and I’m constantly covered in snow!”

The other polar bears rolled their eyes and told Jerry to leave if he thought there was somewhere better.

“Well then,” Jerry said, “I’m going south. See you guys later!” And so, Jerry left to find a better home.

After weeks of travel, Jerry finally came to a place where there was no snow. Astonished, he came to a clearing where he found a river that was not frozen and it was filled with fish.

“This is it!” Jerry said aloud. “This is paradise!”

“Isn’t it great?” Said another voice. Jerry turned around in surprise and standing there was a brown bear.

“We have a wonderful home here. You’re more than welcome to stay.” The brown bear said.

“No thanks… I’m good…” Jerry mumbled, and he ran all the way back to the North Pole.

When he got back to the North Pole, the other polar bears crowded around him and asked him what he saw.

“Did you find someplace better?” They all asked him.

“Well,” Jerry said,” I found a place where there wasn’t any snow and there were rivers filled with fish!”

“Oh my gosh!” The other polar bears exclaimed. “Why did you come back then?!”

“Well…” Jerry stuttered again. “It all seemed pretty great… But then this polar bear came out of the woods covered in shit.”

I hope you guys enjoyed these jokes. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been super busy.

So, apparently virtual field trips are a thing. (Part 1)

Apparently virtual field trips are things that exist, and they’re pretty cool! I’m not a teacher nor a student, but I’m still really enjoying some of these virtual “trips” to different places. Yesterday, I was looking around the Louvre on my computer. Today, it was an aquarium.

Since these places are so cool, I’ve decided to share some links with you guys! They’re all virtual field trips or webcams you can look at, or even some resources that you can have to accompany them. So, have fun with these (and maybe even learn a few things)!

Virtual Field Trips to See Animals

California’s San Diego Zoo has a bunch of cute animals on display via webcams. They even have platypus on camera. In addition to the cameras, they also have a bunch of information on various animals on their kid’s section!

The Atlanta Zoo Panda Cam is nice! It shows, well, pandas. Not much I can say about this other than that I really like watching the pandas there. They’re so cute! Unfortunately, at the time I write this the panda cam doesn’t show much on my end. Not sure if that’s a glitch on my end or on their end…

Also in California, the Aquarium of the Pacific has a bunch of webcams where you can see penguins, sharks, and other sea life.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has a couple webcams, too! This aquarium is in California too… I’m starting to see a pattern regarding which aquariums and zoos I’ve looked at.

The Georgia Aquarium has a lot of different webcams, too! This one is of the piranha tank!

The National Aquarium in Washington D.C. has 360 degree tours of their fish and other things, though it’s not in video form. Rather, it’s more like Google Earth where everything is still, but you can move around in the area.

That’s all I can really post for now, given that it’s 5:00 AM here and I really need to get an hour or two of sleep. Good night, everyone. I’ll post more later ^_^

50th Post!!! (9/26/2020)

So, today is the 50th post on this blog! That’s a pretty big accomplishment, at least for me. I’m not sure what exactly to say, but if you’ve been here a while, thank you! I really appreciate it! If you’re just now arriving on this blog, welcome and enjoy your stay!

Anyway, I have been in bed a lot due to being sick, but that just led me to finding a ton of games that you guys might be interested in! Remember how I said before that I was planning on reviewing a ton of games? Well, I’m starting that again. This is the first post!

Game 1: Child of Light (For the PSVita)

I recently rediscovered my PSVita a while ago after getting this game from my mom. It’s a pretty good game that takes place in a fantasy world called Lemuria. It centers around a little girl named Aurora who dies and is reborn in this fantasy world, which is kind of sad but overall an interesting plot point for a game in my opinion. It’s seen a lot in anime, but I don’t really know if it’s in a lot of games. The only other one I can think of is an old Xbox 360 game called “Eternal Sonata”.

Without revealing too much, the game has a main couple of villains who you only really encounter later in the game, the main heroine (Aurora), and her companions. You recruit the companions throughout the game. Some are from the circus that passed through recently, others are traders and merchants, etc. Your characters each have specific abilities that are good against certain enemies, so you have to swap them out for more than just leveling.

In addition to the characters and battles, there’s also a system where you move around a wisp-like creature with one stick and Aurora with the other stick. The wisp can be used to solve puzzles and pick up certain items, while Aurora mostly functions as a general game character would. Oh, and she can fly by a certain point in the game, so that’s pretty interesting too!

I don’t really have pictures of this game, since it was on the PSVita, but it was fun. I would definitely recommend it! That is, if you can find a copy of it plus a PSVita. They’re pretty hard to find these days, from what I’ve heard.

I was going to post more games to suggest, but it’s about 10:30 at night here, so… I kinda need to get sleep. I hope you guys find a copy of the game and play it, because it’s really fun!

Fun Things I’ve Found (8/13/2020)

Heya everyone, it’s me again. So, I’m basically stuck in bed for a while and I kinda need something to do, so… Time to post here, I suppose. I can’t really do much else besides try to kill boredom, might as well write about it.

Here’s some things I’ve found, starting with western novels and moving onto other things.

Book 1: “They Both Die at the End” by Adam Silvera

Amazon.com: They Both Die at the End (9780062457790): Silvera, Adam: Books

This book is super sad, and the title is kind of a spoiler, but hear me out. Basically, there’s this thing called Death Cast which can tell when you die and notifies you on the day that you are going to kick the bucket. This book largely revolves around two young guys, Mateo and Rufus, who happen to be looking for a friend on their last day on Earth. (9.5/10)

Book 2: “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie

Amazon.com: And Then There Were None (9780062073488): Christie, Agatha: Books

This book is a classic, as far as I’m aware, so many of you probably read it in middle school or high school. If not, it’s about a bunch of people who are taken to an island and they slowly get killed off, one by one. They try to find the culprit. Do they ever find them, though, or are they all killed off…? (10/10)

Book 3: “Servant of the Underworld” by Aliette de Bodard

Servant of the Underworld (Obsidian and Blood) (Volume 1): de Bodard, Aliette: 9781625672049: Amazon.com: Books

This is more of a mature, violent read, at least compared to what I normally read, but it’s really good. It’s a murder mystery set in a fantasy version of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, before the Spanish invaded. It’s a really good read, but can get quite gruesome. (8.9/10, maybe?)

Alright, so I’ve read those books so far. I’m starting on The Rise of Kyoshi soon, but I can’t really say much about it yet since…. well, I haven’t started it yet. What I have started on, though, are some manga series that I can recommend.

Manga Series

Manga Series #1: “Otomen”

Amazon.com: Otomen, Vol. 1 (1) (9781421521862): Aya Kanno: Books

“Otomen” is about a high school guy who is really into things that are often seen as just for girls. Baking, sewing, making bento boxes for friends, that sort of thing. He feels the need to hide this due to his mother’s pressures, so instead of openly buying and making plush toys and baking cakes, he practices martial arts. It’s a really cute series, so far. (8/10)

Manga Series #2: “The Promised Neverland”.

Amazon.com: The Promised Neverland, Vol. 1 (1) (9781421597126): Shirai, Kaiu, Demizu, Posuka: Books

I’m pretty sure I covered the anime version of this earlier, but it’s best to go into the manga blind, too. For those who need a little nudge, it’s about orphans who find out that the world outside their perfect home isn’t quite what they were expecting. (10/10)

Manga Series #3: “Love in Focus”.

Love in Focus 1: Nogiri, Yoko: 9781632367686: Amazon.com: Books

This is a really good manga about photography and love. That’s all I can really say. It’s only four volumes, so go read it if you get a chance!~

Here are some game recommendations I have, both on Steam and free to play ones:

Digital Card/Board Games

Armello – A digital board game on Steam where you must achieve victory through various means as one of a number of animal characters. You have to save the Kingdom of Armello from its corrupted king, perhaps even saving the king from himself. It’s a good game. This one isn’t free, though. ($20.00)

Hearthstone – This is a Warcraft/World of Warcraft-inspired digital card game by Blizzard. They have it on their Blizzard App, a program for the computer, as well as on iOS and Android devices. While it may not run super well on a phone, it runs well on a decent computer. Anyway, this game is largely free, but you do have the option of paying for certain extra card packs and whatnot. I’m putting it as free here because… well, it’s basically free if you restrain yourself from it. (Free)

Talisman: Digital Edition – This game can be actually really hecking expensive if you get every expansion and extra thing, though the base game itself is fine for at least a while of gameplay and only costs $6.99. The number of players at one game can be anywhere from one (against AI) to six real, living people. At least, you hope they’re living. There are undead in this game, after all.

Rhythm Games

Melody’s Escape – Play music and dodge obstacles to the music. It’s as simple (or difficult!) as that. This game is really fun, but it does cost about 10 dollars so that may be a bit much for some people who don’t really like rhythm games all that much. Personally, I think it’s worth the price for those who like games like this. ($10.00)

Strategy Games

Battle for Wesnoth – This game is very similar to the older Fire Emblem games, with tons of free content for players, often made by the players. In fact, the entire game is free, so check it out. It’s on Steam and it’s own site, too. (Free)

Caravan – This game is all about trading goods from town to town, rebuilding your empire of Iram, and evading and/or fighting creatures from Middle-Eastern folklore like Ghouls and Djinn/Genies. It’s based in part on 1001 Arabian Nights and it has largely slow but relaxing and interesting gameplay. (Currently $0.99 on the Steam Store, but typically $9.99)

Visual Novels

Juniper’s Knot – I don’t know if I mentioned this one before (probably did) but it’s a really good free visual novel, albeit with one story path. Check it out, you might enjoy it too. Keep in mind it does have some adult themes despite its storybook-style artwork. (Free)

Voices From the Sea – Another free VN I might have mentioned. This one also only has one ending, but unlike Juniper’s Knot, this one has more Japanese-style artwork (like the type you’d see in manga or anime) and it’s also far more family friendly. Both are quite good. (Free)

That’s pretty much all I have so far. Sorry for the huge wall of text, I’ll try to format it better next time. Have fun, everyone.

An Anime Update (Recommended Anime – 8/12/2020)

Hey everyone. So, I know I haven’t been posting recently, but that’s for a very good reason… You see, I was super sick again and I haven’t had much time outside of hospitals and visits to the doctors so… yeah…

Anyway, this update will be about anime I definitely recommend. I haven’t been able to watch much anime given the internet connection in the hospital, but I can definitely recommend at least some of what I watched there. So, without further ado… here we go!~

Anime 1

“My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!” is a pretty good anime. The protagonist is a young girl who dies (thanks Truck-kun!) and is reborn in a fantasy world that just so happens to be the world of her favorite Otome game. Only problem? She’s the villainess, and all routes lead to either death or exile in the game for this character…

So, Lady Catarina Claes has to figure out how to not die or get exiled in the end, with some very… uhm, *potentially* romantic… results. The main character is as dense as can be, perhaps even denser than a star, so don’t expect too much in the way of romance. It’s mostly comedy, a tiny bit of action and mystery, and some romance from the side. Overall, I definitely recommend this. (9.5/10)

Anime 2

“Mairimashita! Iruma-kun” or “Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun” is a really funny fantasy/supernatural slice-of-life. The show centers around a fourteen year old human boy named “Iruma”, who works super hard and is super kind despite having very lazy, neglectful, and borderline abusive parents. Don’t worry, the parents are barely mentioned after the first episode due to the fact that they sell their son (Iruma) to a demon in the very first part of the first episode.

The thing is, the demon who bought Iruma is an elderly man named Sullivan who just wanted a grandson. He explains that he’ll give Iruma anything and everything he wants in life if he just agrees to be his grandson. Iruma, who cannot refuse anything or anyone, agrees… then is sent to a school for demons, of which Sullivan is the headmaster! The show revolves around Iruma, his friend and potential girlfriend Clara, his other friend and potential boyfriend Alice (don’t ask), and his newly-adopted life in the demon world. (8.5/10)

Anime 3

“The Promised Neverland” is an anime you’ve probably heard of a lot already. It’s best to go into it blind, so I’ll give a very vague description: A group of siblings grow up together, with the one they call “Mom”. Except, the “Mom” is not their real mother, the “siblings” are all orphans, and they discover something scary about the world outside their perfect home. They have to band together to brave the world outside eventually.

It gets pretty grim later on, but it’s amazing. Go in as blind as possible! (10/10)

Anime 4

“Ascendance of a Bookworm” is fairly good as well. It’s about a college-aged woman who dies in an accident right as she learns she will be able to work as a librarian, just like she always wanted. With her last breath, she begs God to be reincarnated into a world with books…

…And her wish is granted! Sort of. There’s a catch: She’s born as a peasant in a world without printing presses or major production of books, so the books are only available to the nobles and the churches/clergy in this world. Nonetheless, the woman (now known as the little girl Main), decides to just make books until she can have serious access to them. Along the way, she meets friends and foes, enemies and allies alike.

It’s pretty good, so I’d suggest it. I haven’t seen the second season yet, but I can at least recommend the first season. (9/10)

Anime 5

“Angel Beats” is a somewhat older anime, but still quite good. It’s about a bunch of teenagers who fight against God, Buddha, or whomever might be running things up there to protest against their unfair lives. Oh yeah, and the teenagers are also dead and the worst possible purgatory – High school.

It’s quite funny while still managing to be very emotional at times. I cried at the end at least a little. Ok, maybe a lot. I won’t say what happens beyond that, because it’s quite exciting and emotionally-driven show. It only has twelve or thirteen episodes, so keep that in mind. (8.5/10)

Anime 6

“How To Keep A Mummy” is a cute, supernaturally-fueled slice of life. It has twelve episodes, so it’s a rather short watch. Basically, a young boy’s father has been gone for many years and sends the boy presents that tend to be magical. Except, instead of the happy-go-lucky sort of magic, the objects tend to be cursed and often even murderous. Except… this last shipment from his dad doesn’t seem to be all that bad. It’s a tiny mummy, sent straight from Egypt, who barks like a dog.

The boy isn’t supposed to remove the mummy’s wrappings (and you never do find out what’s under them) and he’s supposed to treat the mummy like family. He does so, and soon more supernatural creatures pop up in the lives of his friends and classmates. One finds a dragon, another a baby oni (Japanese demon of sorts), and the third finds… well, I’ll let you find out.

Anyway, it’s a cute show, so I hope you check it out and enjoy it as much as I did. (7.5/10)

Anime 7

“Recovery of An MMO Junkie” is a cute, if predictable anime. It’s about a woman who quits her job, retiring early to a life of playing video games almost all day. She encounters a cute girl online who isn’t exactly what she seems, then befriends her.

I will say that everyone in the guild turns out to be local, and they do meet up in person during the show. They just don’t realize it at first. I give this a (7.5/10)! It’s entertaining, but super predictable for me. Though, maybe that was the point?

That’s all the anime I have for now. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I need to get either sleep or caffeine pretty soon, so… g’night everyone!~

So, I just realized I haven’t posted anything here in a while…

I just realized I haven’t posted anything here since before I left to Japan. Maybe I should post some jokes or games I’ve found, but I honestly don’t know of any really good new ones. I’ve been a bit sick recently, so I’ve largely been in bed or browsing YouTube.

On that note, a few good YouTube videos will be posted pretty soon.

I’ll be gone for a while…

Hey guys. I’ll be gone from now until New Year’s Day 2020 on a trip. I hope all of you have a very merry Christmas, a happy Yule, or whatever you celebrate and a very happy New Year!~

That’s really all I wanted to say, so have a good year! I’ll try to update the pages of this blog for a bit, but there won’t be any new posts for a while. Sorry about that.

Sorry that this post was really short, I’ve been a bit busy.
